Shimonoseki Shunpanro

Shunpanro is known as the first restaurant in Japan to serve pufferfish after the ban was lifted.

In 1888, Hirobumi Ito enjoyed pufferfish cuisine at Shunpanro, which led to the lifting of the ban.

For over 120 years, Shunpanro has upheld the honor of being the first licensed pufferfish restaurant. Please enjoy the traditional taste and impressive techniques that have been passed down.
